Welcome to Teluk Ketapang Homestay. We are located in Malaysia, in a state called Terengganu. We are situated in the east coast region of Malaysia.

Teluk Ketapang Homestay is under the management of Teluk Ketapang Homestay Operators Assosiation, which is under the full cooperation with Teluk Ketapang Youth Club (MAYC) and under our guardian angel's guide, Tourism Malaysia.

Kampung Teluk Ketapang ( Teluk Ketapang Village ) is located on the north of Kuala Terengganu town.

The name of Teluk Ketapang came from a plant called Ketapang located at a bay and it is very big and old. According to the story, this plant is a mystical plant guarded by a genie.

This village is accessible by land and water. It is not an island but located on the other side of Terengganu river.There are no railway track in Terengganu but it can be reach by other land transports.

The nearest bus station is Kuala Terengganu Bus Terminal at Kampung Tanjung which is 20 minutes drive from Kampung Teluk Ketapang and the nearest airport is Sultan Mahmud Airport. It only take 5 minutes to reach there.

Kampung Teluk Ketapang is a modern fishing village. In this village we can provide you with some experience which is cannot be found in other village such as the making of Keropok (Fish sausages and fish crackers), the making of Belacan ( shrimp paste ) and Budu ( Fish sauce ).

You can also experience some of Terengganu traditional games like Cak Kekok Kaki Ayam, Silat ( Martial Art ) and Traditional dances such as Ulek Mayang, Zapin and others.

You can also visit the famous traditional Boat Making island ( Pulau Duyung or Mermaid Island - the location of Monsoon Cup Challenge ) and Terengganu Museum ( sometimes called Terengganu Maritime Museum ).

If you're thinking of bringing back some souvenirs of Terengganu to your beloved ones, you can visit Pasar Kedai Payang ( Payang Central Market ). There are lot's of  souvenirs to choose from. There are textile based merchandise such as Kain Batik, Kain Pelikat, Songket and lots more. If you're a metal/copper collectors there are also pewter and copper collections with varieties of shapes, sizes and prices. You can also try our local cuisine here with a cheaper price.
